Wheeling in NH

Postby lordjoechu » Tue May 30, 2006 11:53 pm

I am not part of any clubs or anything yet. I live in merrimack NH as I don't know what the best club to join is. Also I plan on keeping my truck basicly stock. I don't plan on replaceing my stock 29" tires for a while. I'm not even to sure if this sport is something I want to really get into. Anyone know of some places I can legally go and wheel for a while and see if this is something I', really into?

Our club accomodates stock trucks and we are not brand specific. We also do a "trial membership" where rather then paying full membership up front, it $10 for 1 wheeling trip and if you like it and want to join we subtract that from the full years dues.

We have a few basic minimum requirements like recovery points, recovery strap, and a first aid kit. We also have members from CT to ME. I'm not familar with trails in the merrimack area, but we do have a couple members and our president that live relatively close to you. You should come sign up on our site www.nezr2.com and see how we fit with what your looking for.

So just so I have this strait. I may come and ride with you guys just to try it out? Umm anything my veichel should have? I have tows straps and part of a first add kit, and I always carry water with me. It has a tow hook points in the front. Not sure on the back. I beleive there are a couple of holes designed for recovery.

What kind of truck do you have?
Make sure its in decent working order and you'll be fine.
A CB radio or UHF radio is good to have too but not really required.

You will want to elect to go on the "class 6" roads with the near stock/stock vehicles. The main homestead area trails will be too tough for you. (but you might want to watch some of the built rigs for a great time...bring a camera)

Best thing you can bring is a good attitude, willingness to get stuck, laugh at yourself, and have fun with others. :D :D :D

Hi Joe. NEWJO's spring fling is a great time.

If you have a receiver hitch on the truck you can buy a shackle mount that slides in there. Good to have in any case.

Well I made a mistake. I said my tires were 29". According to the bridgestone website they are really 30". They are dueler apt. I'm not really sure what that means but I guess its a forum of At.

As much as I would liked to have come I don't like driving in bad weather for long distances unless I have to.

A freind of mine is supposed to be picking up a 93 cherokee tomorrow. May talk him into joining one of these clubs with me. I know that thing is a lot better for wheeling then my explorer (he has the solid axle upfront unlike my torsin bars).
