Welcome To The Northeast Association of 4WD Clubs

I just wanna wheel.

Feel free to use this area for general banter but keep it clean.

I just wanna wheel.

Postby JayZR2 » Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:03 pm

I was outside today doing some yard work and cleaning up some of the winter mess. It was about 50, with a strong breeze but man I had a strong urge to wheel. Maybe it was because I was doing chores

Sunshine is still getting some work done so I couldn't even if I had some place to go.

Anyone else really really feeling the temptation?

Yes.

I did a hub-bearing last night (it had about 3/16 play in it from side to side) and thought, "Man, I wish this was actually from wheeling and not commuting."

I went out to some private property that I have access to. The owner loves to go mudding through it. It is not wetlands or anything just nice and muddy in the spring. He met me out there and now my jeep isn't white anymore.

I'm dying to wheel. Easter Sunday I installed a locker in my front axle and I haven't even been able to test it out. If anyone is going out this weekend and wants to bring me along, let me know.

You're my hero right now.

I'm doing a new clutch, head pipe, Thrush (saving 6 year old one for a spare), transmission and lots and lots of red paint.

Are the class 6 roads closed for mud season? I really wanna hit that road next to the ski slopes again.

Mrfreakinwhite,
Whats up with the banshee? That thing would show :paul: what quads are all about.

I've actually had more of an itch to get out on my quad and blast through the woods at 60mph instead of crawling around like a turtle.

I just hooked up with some buds and scheduled a couple of camping/riding trips up north after mud season. 100+ miles a day riding. Freak'n Awesome.

The banshee isn't mine, but it is older and getting a lot of work done to bring it up to date. Motor rebuild, J arm to A arm conversion, sprocket, plastic trimming and stuff.

I'm coming down the home stretch on my rig, which is good because I just sold my Olds Gutless DD right out from under me and I'll need a ride home.

$100 over budget  but I just have to bleed it out and test it. Oh, I had to shim my wheeled twice cross member because it was bent up in the middle (again) and I couldn't straighten my Rusty's drop x member (3/16"s) back into shape.

A4A (maybe) and wheel Sunday??

Sunshine is not doing so good. Leaking from pretty much everywhere, including a tire. She's been seeing a lot of work as a yard truck recently while my sister and bro - in - law renovate their house. I'm sure she's picked up a nail or 2.

The good news is I have started collecting the parts to rebuild her bigger and better then before.

1 Ton axles with 4:56's - Check
350 TBI motor with only 73K - Check
Need to find a flat bed, or have one built.

Mine are just little 31's for now. :( The only thing I don't like about them is they are much louder than my Trxus. But for the unbelievable difference in ride and performance, I can put up with the noise.
