This is where we left off, plus the front is out:

This weekends meeting is throwing a wrench in to the plan, but... I just keep my head up anyway.

Wow...I didn't know such a thing existed. That is very cool.
I know about the meeting/timing thing. My repair man is going to be working on the Dream Angel this weekend for me. :D

Why did you let that kid pee on your Jeep?

Thanks for making a new thread so the boss doesn't get mad.

But then the two of you wouldn't be able to watch. :P
Too much typing for a PM.

It's an XJ thing, you wouldn't understand.

My inbox is stuffed with more of this land use crap than I know what to do with!

The boss is mad anyway, I'm surprised the thread lasted this long!

I think I'll mount my XJ Obstacle Completion Device with velcro, Tammy. Yours has that base, is it screwed into the dash?

(XJOCD!) Ah, I kill me.

I'll look into that tomorrow, but I think Tams was right about this is too much typing for a pm.

Yeah that was a good one. Mine is just mounted with the tape that came with it. I have to come up with a better way though because the base stays but the button has a tendency to disengage when I am wheeling. One of these times it will hit me or the passenger in the head. Maybe I'll use the elastic I was using on my cup holder because someone decided to break my custom cup holder.

Wait til you see my next little mod. It is top secret. I have been meaning to get it for quite some time and kept forgetting. It is a secret love affair I have.

BTW can I still have that skid plate?

Actually, I talked to Rusty in penn state, (not the state penn, but penn sate) about it. I had called him before. It is the dropped x-member, 3/16s thick, excellent if you do not have an SYE. I am a slacker. I need to e-mail him pics.

My new xj came with a t-case skid and I have an extra one that is slightly bent now. It was given to me so yes you can have it. There's one screw or bolt that needs removal and it could probably be installed right onto your xj with very little effort.

So - the t-case skid is yours. I can give you the drop x-member I have and maybe it can be straightened but I can also see if Rusty will replace it when he sees the pics. He is a wicked cool dude, but y'know, it's an xj thing, so of course he is.

Ok cool. I have not ordered anything from there yet but I just missed out on an opp from one of our club guys with an XJ for an engine skid from there. But he was selling it for only $25 less than I can buy it new, well and minus shipping, so I think I will just bite the bullet soon.

On another note, Roy was driving into work yesterday morning and my track bar broke. That put a damper on going up to work at F&F yesterday since I had to drive to Dom's first to get a replacement. Luckily I have BDS so it is a guaranteed part. I guess after review it had been cracked for a little while and then it made it's final departure yesterday. Word is BDS has been having issues with the original design so the one Roy put in yesterday has a slightly different mod.

I was getting shocks and some bushings at Elias4WDCenter the other day and Lou said the same thing. The Tie rod end at the frame side is weak (I replaced mine twice, thinking BDS wouldn't warranty the end) but Lou said he'll have new ones in stock and I can do the old switcheroo under warranty. Awesome. I liked the one I had very much, but the new one has a much larger outside diameter t.r.e., so it should be even better.

FWIW, I'm running a JKS tie rod sleeve which has been very good to me. It finds stumps but it doesn't budge. The t.r.e.'s take the abuse instead, but it is fairly easy to replace them on the trail.

I'm saving my whole front end for the new rig - steering and all.
