Prayers needed

Postby jenmarrs » Sat Dec 13, 2008 7:37 pm

As some of you know, I have been spending my time these past few weeks worrying and visiting a very ill and very close friend of mine who is in ICU in NYC.

He really needs some extra prayers right now, since complications have put him on the brink. He's on a ventilator now, with unstable pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen sats. At this point we don't know what will happen.

If you talk to God, please put in a good word for my friend Adam. If you don't please focus all good vibes in the direction of New York City.

Thank you

Not really a religious man, but I've called on the Big Guy a couple times. I'll say one for your friend to night Jenn.

thanks guys
He's still on the vent, but they did surgery to put in a more permanent trach and feeding tube so he's more comfortable. He's got pneumonia but right now he's stable. The paralysis and loss of feeling have now affected everything except his neck, but he got some facial movement back and can now focus his eyes a little and see.

unfortunately, I'm now gonna need you to pray harder
today his nerve conduction tests showed that he will probably not recover and be permanently disabled. it will take a couple of years before we know how much movement and feeling he will get back.

Pray for him, and pray double for his wife.

I need to figure out how to structure my time as it looks like we are now talking years rather than weeks or months.

thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks so much to those who took a moment to think of my friend.
It warmed my heart to see your responses on here...This has been a life-altering experience for me and I'm gladdened to see that people care out there.

The news? He is now able to breathe on his own!
He's still trached but the machine is now silent at last!

Still getting slammed with various infections due to hospital germs...grrrr.
But hopefully out of the woods and ready to begin the long road to recovery!

Thanks again for your warm wishes and prayers.
I hope to thrash out my frustrations next summer on the trails with some of ya.

That is very good news. I'll continue the discussions with the Big Guy though for his recovery. :)
