I just got a call - someone is stuck on a class VI nearish me and wants a winch out.
Trouble is, class 6's in that town are closed for mud season (April - June)

What is the correct course of action if I want to help, and the pitfalls?
I am willing to call the authorities to ask permission, but who is the right authority and do I risk getting the stuck person in trouble by notifying the authorities?

Any advice appreciated. Anyone want to go to Grafton NH for a mud rescue?

Sounds like you need a call to the town road agent? Just guessing, we don't have class 6's here in MA. :cry:

Call the road agent, he can give you permission to tempolraily travel a Class VI road
