Yup... you can see me.

Here's the poster - http://dogdigger.com/wp-content/uploads ... r-2009.pdf

Details - Exit 6a off 95 in West Greenwich RI - look for the park and ride.
8:30 am to noon. We're going to use a couple of jeeps to get into the woods (with permission) to pull out a few items. Last year we winched out an old Jeep and pulled out a burnt out car. This year it's smaller items.

The big push this year is going to be recycling scrap (there's a metal yard about 10 minutes away) to raise funds for the dumpsters for next year. We'll use trucks to sort and take whatever we can take for scrap (mostly appliances).

Oh, and here's the results of last years effort. The land manager rode shotgun with me all day and took photos - http://www.wrb.ri.gov/program_pm.htm#volcleanup

I'm going to ask for a link and mention of OSJ this time round.

There's lunch to follow at the Big River Inn (with raffles, but it's mostly local stuff and mountain bike gear - the mountain bikers have been very involved for several years).

Yeah, well I used to be an officer in the RI chapter of NEMBA, so I've kept those relationships. I think NEMBA is way ahead of most organized recreational groups (including the hikers) and we can learn a lot from them. The RI chapter pres. is going to ride along on a trail ride with us sometime soon. We'll see how that develops - I'm optimistic.

This land is only "open" to hikers at the moment, so it's a good opportunity to join forces with everyone who wants equal access.

I assume NEMBA is Northeast or New England Mountain Biking Association?

IDK...I don't feel like Googling it.

I had a NEMBA member ride along with me, he asked some questions about the club, we discussed tread lightly, trail conservation, mentioned the NEA a bunch of times. Even received an invite to MB with them on Thursday nights.

Just a couple... http://s711.photobucket.com/albums/ww119/JTK_05/Earth%20Day%202009/?start=all
