Since the former President of Paul's club didn't know we had a FB page. Seriously though, please let your members know we do have a FB page so they can "Like" it. Also we set it up so clubs can make posts and post pictures. Just remember the same typical guidelines apply for pics and content. We'd like to utilize FB more for event announcements, disbursement of info that isn't too private, etc.

And what about the members who refuse to use Facebook? Do they get left out?

Pick one conventional format and stick to it. By having numerous avenues of notification, someone has to keep them all up to date.

They should get with their club delegate and see what chain of communication works best for them.

It was recommended yesterday (by Bill Barnes and others) that we utilize all forms of communication available to us, and FB was specified. We're not solely going to use Facebook but it is a valuable resource that we can and have been using. We understand not everyone uses it...the current President doesn't even have an account. FWIW we currently have 468 people on the FB page...not all of which are affiliated members of clubs. The current admins are on FB anyways so it only takes a few minutes to post updates and such.

I will also be reviving the monthly "Hot topic" email blast that gets sent out via the forum on the 15th of each month. You need to be on the forum mailing list. If you haven't asked to be added yet you can find it here :

I don't think Facebook is the association's primary communication method. It is an addition and extension that also reaches a little outside of the box to communicate to people that are not yet part of the association.
