SOMETHING NEW

Something new. How it is in Ma
Dirt unmaintained roads Jeeps/OHVcan use.
Motorized Trails: Atv, Dirt bike no OHV'S
Instead of hitting them up with changing the 1,000 rule. We tried that.
We should come up with a OHV rule. old roads that can suport
ohv's/ Jeeps. Ask them for Old Roads not trails.

Unmaintained roads are not owned by the state but by the individual towns they are in.

We still recreate on the unmaintained town roads like OFR.

If we recreate on state lands on an unmaintained "road", the Communistwealth of MA views this as a trail.

Good job thinking outside the box

Good idea Rich. This is essentially what we've been doing all along. Sticking to the roads and not the trails. The problem you see is whenever you see the state acquire land the very FIRST thing they do is push abandon all the roads on that land.

Yes the state loves to do that. and that hurts us. I think a new term
might be the best way. forget going after the 1,000 rule.
We need to find away and coin a term that will work with us and the state.

When I think of trails: I think of hiking.

Roads: I think of cars. Anything from MA in print they do not list what we do.

ohv: Off highway vehicle ____________-?

they love to show the Jeep with a banned sign.

Interesting idea, but when I hear the word trail I don't think hiking at all. 8)

Here's a few synonyms that probably wouldn't work:
track
way
lane
route
course
path
pathway
roadway
carriageway

I like Jeep Trail even though (or because?) it pisses off the full sizers.

The topo maps usually just use "4x4". 4x4 is good because it includes everyone (kumbiya ) and excludes ATV's which is important when talking about what you're talking about. 4x4 Trail, 4x4 Road, 4x4 Route.

All the old USGS topo's had 4x4 written all over them. They've since abandoned that practice to my knowledge. I've seen the term Jeep Trail quite a bit in the past as well.

I didn't know Jeep was in the seafood business too.... Maybe All Things Jeep should start shipping lobsters and shrimp.

I'm fine with that.
I used to get upset over such things.
But I've grown to realize, if someone deletes what I say, It's usually for a darn good reason.
