I have created some user groups but cannot figure out how to assign the users to a user group.....I realize this will help make things easier as far as access to the various sections.

Personally, I think that we should wary of the fact that we are an Association that will be viewed by numerous state agencies, businesses, and, (gulp) groups who oppose us. That being the case, we should be very selective and careful about what smileys we use.

So you have all of these nifty user groups that I can now see on the main page, but have zero access to?

Cool.

Its so that I can send mass emails to the different working groups and to make it easier to allow access for a "group" to some forums.

thanks man.

someone needs to protect me from these folk.

So seriously, why can I see all of these other forums but can't get into them and read?

EDIT: All of them give me this:

Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum.

It's all good if I need to be a special guy or something, but what if I actually did have something real to contribute?

Right now it is no big deal...baby steps and all that but I cannot even stick my toe in the water to feel the temp ya know.

The only thing it takes to be on one of the committees afaik is raising your hand.

I did not know that all doors would be closed to me when I said that Scott.

I figured there would be a place for me to learn what is going on and perhaps offer any input I may come up with after I learn.

I am only balking at commitment, not desire.

I cannot even say I have anything to offer right now.

Like I said the commitment level is up to you, you can be as active or as inactive as you choose to be or your schedule allows. There are long time members of the committee who rarely contribute physically but help with discussions and things. Then there are people who are rarely seen on-line but active physically.

These forums are the working areas for committees. Rest assured, when pertinent information becomes available it will be posted in the Conservation Area.

I am not meaning to be a jerk about anything but, as I see this forum, I see 2/3 of it unaccessable to me.

A good part of it that I have some interest in at least as far as my State is concerned.

How is it that I could even express interest in something that is clouded in such mystery?

I may see more than someone not in an association club, but I only have the same access here as they do.

At minimum, I think I should get a peek at General LU. You know what I mean?

General Land Use is the melting pot for all the state land use committees to work together and discuss issues and trade ideas.

Please realize that within these forums confidential information may be displayed at times i.e. names, addresses, phone #s of landowners.

Its not perfect and I'm new at the creation of a forum so please bear with me.

This would be a mute point when I activate you in the NH Land Committee

What Scott said.

Preach they are all new forums, we are just getting started in this new place. The only reason they are closed is because they all started that way, and Scott is assigning people to the right places. It's not a cloak and dagger thing, its just a simple matter of saying "hey, let me in" and your in.

If it makes you feel any better, , Scotty booted me off the BOD list for a WHOLE YEAR! for mouthing off...errr....not even really mouthing off.....and I still love the fat wookie.

But it wasn't Scott you were mouthing off to 8)

Preach I have been on the NH land committee all week and nobody has even said hi let alone given me a bunch of work to do. Joining up is a baby step, volunteering to lead it is jumping in IMO. All joining up seems to do is get you in on trail cut, land aquirement info first and if you want you can jump in and help out on either. Ofcourse that is coming from a guy who has only been on a week. Roy is leading NH, how bad can it be.
