P.S. Can we get a little background on Rusty Cook and the reason why this fund came into existence?

This is the same Russ Cook that we are starting an annual award in honor of and that has been discussed on the forum and there is discussion that has been documented in recent Meeting Minutes.

Rusty is his son. The college fund is simply to help relieve some of the pressure for Rusty's future and is what the family wanted to create in Russ's honor.

thank you tammy .russ was a long time dwe member who struggled with cancer for many years and lost his battle and left behind a wife and child.so we setup a college fund to help out when it comes to that time for rusty.to anyone who knew russ he was a great humble man and is surely missed.

The first time I met Russ was a trail cut at Gretchen's. Our first conversation was him pulling me aside and showing me his Med ID bracelet and saying" I don't think anything will happen but if it does this what you need to do and who you need to call..." And I'm thinking to myself, self, this guy is is crazy. WTF is he doing on a trail cut?
Later that year, he agreed to lead a trail at Swanzey for Fall Crawl. He was so weak that when he came back he had to lie down and we brought him his food, but he committed to leading that trail and by god he was going to follow through on his commitment. Wish they made more people like Russ.
