Congratulations Jay
Posted: Mon Sep 10, 2012 11:59 amAgain, because things were kind of rushed on Saturday night, I wanted to extend a formal congratulations to Jason Ghelli for receiving the 2012 Shane Beard Award!
I don't think there are many who don't know Jay from his service as Executive Vice President and President, so the impact he made on people during that time speaks for itself. While I know he thinks he may not be deserving of the award, I know his peers who voted on him (by a landslide) feel otherwise. Having worked with him, I know he deserves it too. I've seen the passion he has for the sport and for the community. His ideas and the way they're carried out may not always be popular with everyone but I know I've seen him always looking out to do the right thing and promote the right image. That's what we're here for. His willingness to help people out on and off the trail speaks volumes for how he typically puts other people first. There are so many reasons he deserves the award but I just want to say Thank you Jay for everything you've done, for being an awesome mentor to me for the position, and I hope you enjoy your vacation and that we see you involved for a long time. Congratulations!!
