CTU, COALT, & CT area clubs meeting

Postby Scott Hatch » Wed Dec 13, 2006 9:00 pm

The Connecticut Trail Users, Inc. are an established group in Connecticut who concentrate, generally, on advocacy and legislation, with the ultimate aim of opening public land for motorized use. Like COALT, they are reaching out to all motorized user groups for membership and support.

CTU has a professional lobbyist and a relationship with key DEP personnel already.

The Connecticut Open Access Land Trust, Inc., has been established with the focus on opening land in CT for motorized use, primarily through the purchase and management of land, privately held by the corporation. COALT is still a relatively new organization, and has a committed core of 4WD enthusiasts and also has a relationship with key DEP personnel in place.

This meeting will explore how the two organizations can and should function separately and together in Connecticut to best reach the ultimate goal of both: legal wheeling and off-road motorcycle/ATV riding in CT.

The building holds 60 people. It would probably be ideal if each Connecticut CLUB sent two representatives.
