Hi Folks yesterday at the meeting I asked about making a trails fund.
It got voted in and I started it off with money from the Big 4WD event
$500 . The Assoc. matched it and now there is $1,000 in the fund.
I'd like to ask all the clubs and it's members to add to the fund. :D

On behalf of the NEA I thank you

I am going to be creating a donation page with a Pay-Pal link on the main NEA website and then we'll send out a press release

Can we have some info on what exactly this Trail Fund is for?

Its a non-specific fund for purchasing materials for trail maintenance. It can be used for equipment rental, purchase, or paying a contractor.

This will cover any trail that needs work.

This will cover any trail that needs work. The Assoc. will vote to
use the money on the trail that needs work. Unlike the OFR fund that was set up for just OFR. This is what I wanted and I'm glad to help out.

The specifics of accessing these funds may need to be worked out a little but in essence this is correct

lets add some more to this fund

This is something we (NEA) can look into once our fiscal year closes out for 2007.

Donations will be gladly accepted 8)

I'm a little short right now.
Tax season I may donate something. I like this idea too.

I spent 3.95 for marking tape and $15 for a new chain for last weeks cut.
:D

Something we could do, maybe come spring: Talk to the guy at the Cabin in Springfield, coordinate getting a tractor up there to level the road. I bet we have a few tractors in our assoc however. 8)

A shoulder mounted whacker with a saw blade would be nice for Spgfld too. Would speed up the process.

Too bad their not public trails, we could to the RTP grant.
