Greetings STAC Members;
As you already know, the Division of Parks, Bureau of Trails is starting an Adopt-A-Trail program this year to help with the maintenance of non motorized trails throughout NH?s state parks and forests. Below you will find the press release that was sent out a month ago with more information on the Adopt-A-Trail Program. We are still accepting applications and would encourage you to get back to your user groups to invite them to adopt one of the trails within Bear Brook, Rollins and/or Winslow State Parks!
Training for the program will be held on April 25th. The application can be found here and the form can be printed and mailed to the Bureau of Trails at PO Box 1856 Concord, NH 03302 or faxed at 603-271-3553.

NEW HAMPSHIRE ADOPT-A-TRAIL PROGRAM ANNOUCNED
(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation, Bureau of Trails announces a new Adopt-a-Trail Program. The program was created to assist in the maintenance of over 5,000 non motorized multi-use trails in select state parks and state forests throughout New Hampshire.
The Adopt?a-Trail Program gives trail users an excellent opportunity to volunteer with friends and family, as well as fill a much needed void in the maintenance of the trails. For this pilot program, trails that are available for adoption are located in Bear Brook State Park, Rollins State Park, and Winslow State Park (Mount Kearsarge State Forest). The program will consist of a training for those that are approved for trail adoption. The Bureau of Trails has teamed up with the Appalachian Mountain Club to aid in training and outreach efforts.
?This is a long overdue step in the maintenance and care of valuable trail resources in state parks and state forests,? stated Chris Gamache, Bureau of Trails Chief. ?The Bureau is glad to have the opportunity to work cooperatively with volunteer trail maintainers, as well as the Appalachian Mountain Club.?
