Important Notice

D.C.R. TO DELAY OPENING OF TRAILS FOR 2009 RIDING SEASON

The D.C.R. has delayed opening of the state forest trails until clean up of
all four state forests is complete.

Becky Barnes (region 5 director) and Bob Mellace informed all B.T.C. clubs
that a complete clearing of all trails in all four state forests will need
to be completed before the forests can be open for the 2009 riding season.

W.M.A.T.V. will be leading a ( WALK IN ONLY) trail inspection/trail
clearing work party at the Pittsfield State Forest on Sunday April
26th,2009

Interested members should contact Tim Crennan or Frank Rudd for meeting
times and specific locations.

Once we have a better work plan established we will be having regular clean
up weekends throughout the month of May,If trails are dry enough the D.C.R.
will give W.M.A.T.V. members/volunteers permission to use atv's to expedite
the trail clearing. ALL VOLUNTEERS WILL HAVE TO REGISTER WITH PITTSFIELD
STATE FOREST H.Q.and sign a special waiver that has been given to
W.M.A.T.V. for the ice storm damage clean up project.

This is needed as regular riding will still not be allowed in the forest
until we complete this task.

WITH A STRONG TURN OUT OF VOLUNTEERS, THIS PROJECT COULD BE COMPLETED AS
EARLY AS THE BEGINING OF JUNE.

WE NEED EVERY ONE'S HELP TO GET THIS DONE.
