Council Approves Purchase Of Land For ATV Park
Berlin Plans To Create 350 Miles Of Trails

POSTED: 11:45 am EST November 16, 2005

CONCORD, N.H. -- The Executive Council on Wednesday approved having the state buy 7,500 acres in Berlin for a new state park that will feature hundreds of miles of all-terrain vehicle trails.

Berlin officials expect the ATV park to attract off-road riders from around the country and boost the local economy.

Allison McLean, who heads the Division of Parks and Recreation, said the state hopes to close the deal in mid-January and open it to the public almost immediately.

She said the property already has about 60 miles of roads suitable for snowmobiles or ATVs. The goal is eventually to develop about 350 miles of off-road trails. Skiing, snowmobiles, camping, hiking and other uses also will be included.

The plan had widespread support -- even from those who object to ATVs. They said it makes more sense to keep trails in a less populated area up north.
Guy that used to do stuff a long long time ago.

Well I am concerned about the stand that the AMC is taking. And it did happen quickly.

My answer would be no until 4x4s have a sticker program. This land is being purchased with ATV sticker money. If I paid for my ATV sticker I would not want vehicles that did not pay into the system to use the land.
