Finally met the president of a new club just formed in Southern Maine called Redneck Motorsports. I have had a few phone conversations and a couple emails. Based on that, they are in the process of incorporating with the State of Maine. Approx 15-25 paying members. At least some are interested in joining NEWJO also. Should hopefully become a good club. Most of my conversation is education about legal access and the club process. Have planted the NEA seed also.

I met with the club pres again last night. I am very encouraged by the change in attitude and (supposed) actions taked already. He has +/- 20 paid member and they are in the process of incorporating. He has had the family lawyer draw up a waiver form for club runs and has club officers. They have or are working on a land permission form like we have. He has laid down the ground rules for club behavior which includes no booze during club events except if camping overnight and only after the rigs have been put to bed. No drugs period. He also has said he wants written permission for any trails they go on. They have have several places they had been going which they thought was open but after our 1st conversation are now researching it. He also know a lot of people in the area and wants to put together a hit list between us to see about securing written permission on private land he knows of.

Lastly he likes the idea of the NEA although he doesn't truly grasp what we are all about.

How much is it for new clubs to join again?
