"Canceled: Boulder Bash Oct 10th"

Postby powerlinek9 » Thu Aug 20, 2009 4:29 pm

If you went to the Boulder Bash in June you know what kind of mayhem to expect. Chinese fire drills, trucks flipped over, Burnouts, Double Burnouts, 60 MPH Cadillac jumps. some of the prettiest rigs all the way to the ugliest jalopy junk, your next door neighbor competing with some of the top drivers on the east coast.
We will be having a:
Timed Rock Crawl
Truck show (free with purchase of $10 general admission and open to all 4X4s)
Ramp travel index challenge
Tough truck competition. (not limited to trucks)
A surprise attraction is also likely

I'll have more information up soon

I think some posters need to get spread. I know for the mudbogs there are posters all the way down here. I was quite surprised that some people I knew had heard about it.

The good thing with that date; you don't have any competition (to my knowledge) that would draw vendors away from your venue.

Good point Scott, that will definitely help.

Josh, sometimes we would print off a certain amount of flyers and e-mail them to all the clubs so they could distribute them. I'd be willing to help get you the addresses if you want to do that.

Yeah it really sucks when there is another event the same weekend / day as yours :(

More Info?

Postby grocery_getter » Mon Aug 31, 2009 4:36 pm

At the risk of sounding like a moron... where is this? And is there a website for info? Like... is there pre-registration for the rock krawl? Classes?

Thanks
DWE

I highly recommend anyone who can make it to this. Probably one of the funnest events I've "worked" the NEA booth at ever.

The larger the turn out will also help get larger crowds at the next show.

And yeah it is one of the most entertaining shows I have seen to.

Just checked with Josh.

If your a nonprofit booth, just have to pay admission for the event for the people workin it. ($10/per person) Same as if you were just attending anyway.

yeah, any way to send an e-mail to the delegates and let them know a non-profit club booth is free? would be nice to have the NEA strongly represented here.

As we know from planning our show, you could plan an event on any day of the year and you're likely to coincide with somebody else's event. Put the word out and people will come. Not to mention the grass drags are three days. TDR used to be on Columbus Day weekend and they seemed to do pretty well.

The caddy jump was driven by Josh and only Jay and Scott rode with him. They all wore helmets and were aware of the consequences. It wasn't like it was an open thing where anyone could jump it or go along for the ride.

mostly time and money didn't permit. an unsuccessful fall show would compromise future shows and i would rather put on two great shows next year than a half assed one in the fall.
