Please make note wherever you have posted that we have added an Extreme option this year. Also, we are offering an option for drivers who are just attending the run and not the meal to just pay $25. I have updated the info on the website and will be updating my posts this afternoon.

I am checking on that.

We may have had the Extreme option in the past but it was never advertised. The info always said only Moderate and Hard. More importantly we have the added location this year for the Extreme option.

From the main webpage:
Additional shirts are $25 adults and $10 kids under 7.

Are additional long sleeves really $25 or is this a typo?

He wasn't asking about additional shirts. He was asking if the driver who is paying $25 just to wheel gets a shirt/sticker. I am waiting to confirm this with J because I am not sure. We just decided as of this morning to do the wheeling only option.
Whatever info is posted was reviewed by the officers. If they didn't object to anything than whatever is posted is correct. $25 is what we have charged in the past for an additional shirt.

Yes. I included a place to specify those on the sign-up sheet.

So I'm pretty sure there are more than three people attending the Snow Run/dinner! Please don't wait til the last minute and sign up if you're going! We need accurate counts in advance for shirts and food.

how tough are we going to be on the rig requirements?
I have a friend on 31 MTRs and front locker looking to do the Class VI run. I was looking to run the hard trail on 34 LTBs locked F&R w/ winch.

Probably pretty strict if we still have 2+ feet of snow.

How much does your friend like his bumpers and rig?

This applies to all of our events but-please register for the Snow Run/Dinner by sending in the registration form.

Making a payment via Paypal does not guarantee your registration if you don't submit a reg form. I don't check Paypal everyday and I'm not notified when payments are submitted.

Pm'ing me on forums or FB really just makes more work for me.

If you have trouble with the reg form than just let me know via e-mail or something and we'll do our best to help you out. Don't forget you can snail mail and fax the form. Once the new site is up and running, event registration should be quite a bit easier and eliminate these issues.

I hate to be a jerk about this but I have to be fair to everyone who is registering the right way. :?

We have about 10 people signed up right now.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. It makes things a million times harder for us. You need to be signed up by 2/10/2011.

I know you are sick of the snow but this is your chance to go have some fun it.

TTT

If things don't pick up, we may have to cancel the Gretchen's run. Won't be worth it to have it plowed out.

I'll be sending mine in tomorrow AM.

Not to scare anyone away...but IMO, this is going to be another tough Snow Run. We have quite a bit of snow on the ground with no substantial melting since the first big storm we got, especially in wooded areas that aren't seeing much sun. We're continuing to get more and so far, no sign of a huge melting in sight. I would just advise your members, especially those signing up for the Moderate routes, that it is going to be tough and they need to be prepared! It won't be like last year where we were breezing through.

Yep. Snow runs are always fun and bring a unique experience every year.
Usually the moderate trail gets run a couple times before we get there by some locals so it might not be like going through fresh snow. It may be packed down a little. I would expect a slow day though. May not cover much ground but it will be a good time.

Based on the current conditions we will be VERY strict on the minimum requirements. For all the trails. Don't be "that guy".

Ironically I just heard from Scott that he checked the class VI roads today and they have been run. I know we expect more snow before the snow run, but at least it won't be breaking through 3 feet of fresh powder. :D

Yeah, my warning was more in light of your comment of not being "that guy". Even with the roads being run, it is going to be tough so attendees should be more prepared than normal for a run in the fluffy stuff.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR MEMBERS!!!!

Based on the amount of people we have attending and the costs involved with the hall rental and food purchase we are canceling the Spaghetti Dinner.
ONLY THE DINNER IS CANCELED. The trail run is still happening.
We are also downsizing the hard/extreme to one property. Trust me there will be something for everyone!!!

We will be refunding $25 to everyone who was signed up for the dinner. If you paid via pay pal you will be refunded that way. If you paid via check you will be refunded via check.

It is not too late to sign up. We need registrations for EVERYONE including trail leaders so we can order your shirt.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. IT MAKES MUCH MORE WORK FOR THE EVENT ORGANIZERS.

The T-shirt order is being placed on 2/10. Get your registration in before then.

Why the down year? Every year it seems like a good turn out. You think the amount of snow scared everyone away?

PostPosted: Thu Feb 10, 2011 2:48 pm
by tammylynn
My guesses:
1. Snow amounts.
2. People don't have or want to spend the $.
3. People's rigs are broken or under the knife.
4. People want to wait until the last minute to sign up...or just show up and hope for a spot.
5. Pussification of New Englanders.

6. People want to piss and moan that we should have fundraisers but don't want to show up or help when we have one. (oops, did I type that one out loud?)
