2011 deepwoods truck show cancelled

we are sorry to announce that we have been forced to cancel the 2011 deepwoods extreme truck show and rockcrawl that was scheduled for july 23/24 at gunstock mountain resort. We were unable to procure the necessary insurance required for the event. it has been a fantastic 9 year run and we are truly sorry to have it end like this. we apologize to anyone that has made reservations/commitments in reguards to the show.
Please pass the cancellation news along to your clubs.

is the insurance issue something that may affect the rally, or other shows?

Fall crawl should be fine, its considered "trail riding" which they justify differently.

Sorry to hear you guys had to cancel, especially this late. It's a sign of the times. As far as the Rally Axel, We're looking into it this week, at this point- who knows.

Yes. I don't know how...but I based on their response which I posted here in another area, it will affect any event that is not "static". I gave Liza a heads up yesterday to call K&K to check about Fall Crawl so we don't have any surprises. I agree with Dollarfabulous that it shouldn't but for nine years it hasn't affected our show either.
We contacted other providers, I even contact United Four Wheel Drive Associations (which I will post about when I have more time), but they all wanted around the same amount of money and with less than a week to go, it just wasn't possible.

on top of the insurance issue, we had zero vendors, about 6 raffle prizes and 2 competitors signed up.
time to move on i guess. maybe the economy, maybe just the cycle of things, but deepwoods is focusing on the fun times were having this year even with all of the bad that has happened. we are still attracting new members to the club and attendance is up during our big weekends.

6 responses out of over 50 or so vendors I contacted by email and phone. I went through at least three of the 6 and 1/4 pages Scott C gave me and quite a few additional ones were contacted by some of our members.
