All Things Jeep Go Topless Day May 19th 2012

All Things Jeep in conjunction with WC Motorsports and Ocean State Jeepsters will be hosting a Go Topless Day event on Saturday May 19th in Foxboro, MA.

The event will be held on the grounds of WC Motorsports on RT 1 directly across from Gillette Stadium. There are still many details to work out but we are expecting to have a rock garden, DJ, kids activities, vendors, and raffles. Many big-name companies have already donated toward the raffles. Admission will be $10 per vehicle.

There are 20 sites available for vendors or clubs that would like to set up a booth. The sites are 20'x20' and several are already taken. If any club would like to set up a both then either send me a PM or send an e-mail to GTD2012@oceanstatejeepsters.com. Booth space is free and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. We are still looking at providing power for the booths but no solution as of yet. There will probably be a nominal charge for power.

Stay tuned for more details.

I'm guessing we have already been considered for having a spot for the NEA trailer?

Yes. The trailer has already been listed in the scheduling thread. Anybody should feel welcome to staff the trailer. The fall back position will be to draft somebody from OSJ.

I hope to be there.

Are you covering the raffle? In the past the NEA was expected to manage the raffle on the day of the event but that is because we were receiving the proceeds. I didn't see that we are the recipient this year so are we off the hook?

Some of the proceeds will be donated to the NEA Land Acquisition Fund but the amount will depend on being able to cover the overhead for the event. Any and all extra help is always appreciated especially since OSJ has never put on a big event like this before. So experienced advice and help is always welcome.

Jean and All Things Jeep are so sad that you won't be in attendance, Scott. You were one of the dynamic duo that cut the top off an old XJ at the first Go Topless Day event in 2008.

In any case, it's our New England fans that helped us make this celebration what it is today - a worldwide Jeep event. We hope you'll spead the word to your club members and a huge thanks to Ocean State Jeepers and WC Motorsports and Offroad for taking ownership of the event this year. It's gonna be great!

Need some general information about Go Topless Day 2012? It's here: http://www.allthingsjeep.com/go-topless-day.html

Thank you everyone.

The raffle is starting to shape up. So far we have committments for the following items:

1.) Bubba Rope tree saver
2.) Trailmaster 4.5" JK lift
3.) Gift certificate for Bushwacker fender flares
4.) Raffle kit from Daystar (not sure exactly what this is?)
5.) Committment from Warn (exactly what is still TBD)
6.) Superwinch in a bag
7.) Gift certificate from Mitchell Differential for alloy rear axles
8.) Misc Jeep items from Crown

There are still a handful of booth spaces available.

After reading Jean's post I'm wondering if we should cart in a Patriot and let people try to remove the top with a sledgehammer.

Just let them take a sledgehammer to the whole thing...better yet, do it to a Liberty!

Hello everyone. Less than 2 weeks away. Hope the day is sunny, unlike some Go Topless Days past!

If you plan on making it out to GTD12 in Foxboro, and you have a Facebook account, it would be really helpful if you RSVPed to the event here on our Facebook Events page. It will just give us an indication of whether we need to be prepared for 200, 500 or 1000 Jeeps. (1000, that would be SO cool!)

And please ask your club members to do the same.

Here's the Events Page:

Thanks.

Less than a week to go. We tested out the rock garden yesterday. Only one broken axle shaft. The rock formation visible behind the rock garden also offers up some off-camber excitement.

Only a few clubs have expressed interest in setting up a booth and one of those is not an NEA-affiliated club. This is a great opportunity to recruit new members into our community. If any clubs are still on the fence we have space available so come on out and make yourselves known.

I believe I mentioned this to you in person, but just in case I forgot to, we would like a space.

Thanks!

Well I don't know about anyone else but I can say for the first time at the new place, the event attendance far exceeded what I expected! :hello: Great job overall I think. It was a very relaxed environment..Eric was one of the most laid back event managers I've ever seen. Or maybe he was just hiding it well if he was stressed but it seemed like he had plenty of staff to back him up and they seemed to be doing what they needed to do. Definitely some learning curves for some I think but that will come with time! Thank you for letting us be a part of the day! Kudos to getting Senator Scott Brown to attend! Nice work by everyone.

I attribute this to a shortage of X chromosomes.

Truth be told, I was just a spectator. Derick was coordinator and the teams responsible for parking, rock garden, food, raffles, and kids activities all stepped up with a great effort.

I enjoyed the event. Some interesting action in the rock garden. The bounce house, face painting, and ballon animals were all a big hit with the kids. And the weather was perfect.

Of course the event would not have been possible without All Things Jeep and WC Motorsports so we thank them for their huge support. Thanks also go out to Crown, Superwinch, Mitchell Differential, and Clayton Offroad for contributing to the raffle and Baystate Jeepers for bringing down their RTI ramp.

Last, but not least, thanks to everyone who came out to the event. Strength comes from numbers! Tammy was there with the NEA trailer and I saw members from New England Jeepz, Ronin Wheelers, USAJeepowners, Freedom Trail Riders, Mass Krawlers, Western MA 4x4, and Jeeperz. I'm sure more clubs were also represented.
