Central MA 4Wheeling - April 6th

Postby mrfreakinwhite » Sat Mar 16, 2013 7:57 am

One of our members is organizing a guest run on our Brook Ridge property. The idea is to help grow our membership, because paid memberships are the best way to PAY for the property we purchased and the best way to be sure we continue to purchase property in the near future. JonFund has enough equity here to make the possibility of buying more property a reality in the future.

Every paid guest is entered in a raffle for a paid, voting membership good for one full year.

The date is April 6th.
It is $25 to become a guest member of JonFund for the day. If one later decided to join the club, the guest fee is deducted.
We have miles of trails on 82 acres and will be running in different groups on different trails and trail systems.

Most of our trails we would recommend 33" and a locker, as a minimum. I have run the easiest trail on 245/75R16 and 2" lift in my ZJ but I can promise you that without skids and rock rails, you will get body damage in the best conditions. A stock TJ Rubicon can make it with a skilled driver and I would guess one tug.

The rest of our trails are geared to entertain moderately built to hardcore full bodied vehicles, although I've gotten pretty positive feedback from some guys in buggies, too.
Some feedback I've had from clubs is they were surprised by the obstacles we're running, because they heard it was just logging roads...

There is on site trailer parking on an as needed basis. Street legal rigs on trailers could probably unload elsewhere and drive over.

We may cut off registrations if the group size outgrows the volunteer pool. We've had 67 rigs there at once and it went pretty smoothly.

FB link removed, but it is there as Central MA 4Wheeling event.

The Facebook link took me directly to my calendar, nothing to do with the run.

Can I sign up here, and pay cash at the run?

Negative on the cash at the run, use this link and it gets it all done:

With the possibility of a later than normal mud season, is this still on?

Yep. These are 4x4 trails constructed by a forestry operation which was approved by the state. No trail braiding and everyone stays on the trails and we're all set.
I had 24/7 right to inspection during the entire logging operation and had the ability to mark trails to get cut for them to get the trees they wanted.

Then we've been able to go in and turn this into a workable multi-loop trails system, and there's still areas to work on.

There's not a lot of mud to worry about. 99% of the trees we've cut have been leaners or dead or were storm fell. 99% of the trail clearing is underbrush that regrows between runs.

Thanks for cross posting, we have 10 guests signed up and paid, and a bunch of volunteers from the club.

Equipment requirements are explained during sign ups.
