I think we are getting way OT here. The point of this thread was to discuss the meeting of the minds for EC4WDA & the NEA4WDC. From there we have gone to Coy Hill and UJ-which I would also correct to define that to be Joe K since the supposed issue is with him and not the club as a whole. IMO that is a different discussion entirely and obviously one that needs to be addressed offline.

I know Coy Hill is the icing on the cake that has moved some to warrant the need for a final-sit down and hash things out session. I just would hate to see the time during the Summit turn into a continuation of the recent posts on this thread because that was not the original intent of this meeting.

Seriously-who cares what HAS happened. Nothing can be done about it at this point. The damage is done...end of story. At this point it really doesn't matter who did or didn't do the damage. A project manager has been assigned to the specific plan for Coy Hill. Announcements have been made to address that and honestly-people are either on board or they are not. If they are not then Joe O. needs to decide how that is dealt with. It is really nobody else's concern unless he involves them.
In addition some have come together to organize the Summit. It has been expressed several times who is expected to attend and that should be it until that group decides they wish to include additional people. If your name wasn't on the list-respect that for now and be ready to help when they ask for it!

With regards to the he said she said and finger pointing-again MOVE ON! It doesn't matter at this point. However, if the supposed actions continue from now on-we can monitor the place and take action to support what is being done. People need to grow up and act like adults. If you have a problem with someone-don't go running to someone else-speak to your problem directly and settle it like grown men. It saddens me to see leaders and prospective leaders of organizations acting like this! I agree 100% with Dave's post because petty stuff like the drama he has been placed in the middle of is exactly what wears people down and it is unnecessary!

It is sacrilegious to erase the Muppets...lol and I was not drunk. Maybe I shouldn't admit that. I said hello to Shane today as we passed by. :( Something tells me he was out there with us today and I thank him for protecting my Jeep and allowing me to show up the men!

Wow, it's funny you mention Shane. Last night I was getting ready for todays BSJ run, going over maps, etc.. I pulled up some pics from one of the first NEA snow runs. Shane was trying to make snow angels in 2 feet of snow 8)

12 noon saturday the 1st.
Agenda:

Introductions

Trails

Action:
Compare our trail lists (minus private property). Whatever we share, discuss the legalities and sources involved. Is it open? Is it questionable? Decide to take it off the table or not. Leave the rest on the table.

Purpose:
We need a definitive list because if we don’t even know what we have, how can we tell the states we need more? Also for the Draft Trail Management Plan

People

Action:
List clubs and estimates of members.

Purpose:
Resource management

NE TRAIL MANAGEMENT PLAN (Rough Draft)

Action:
Assign clubs to trails…sort of an “adopt a trail” program. “X” club from NEA and “X” club from EC adopts “Y” trail. These clubs will be the stewards for that trail, environmentally and publicly. Of course club numbers and location would need to be accounted for, meaning NEA may have 2 clubs to 1 of EC’s on a given location or vice versa.
Purpose: Better coordination during land use issues, quicker response to negative publicity, and easier to facilitate clean-ups and/or environmental concerns.

Action:
Create a usage matrix showing what clubs will be using what trails/roads throughout the year. Private trails included (although “private” would be the title of the trail).

Purpose:
Knowing what clubs will be where, the Associations will have a greater understanding of what trails are seeing over-use and will be able to suggest alternatives.

Action:
Make sure members have or carry NEA or EC cards/stickers/something…

Purpose:
Identification during trail runs

Anyone have any additions to the menu?
There's not too many public trails out there, gonna be a short meeting.

I got some yellow signs I want to hang at OFR if anyone wants to head out with me afterwords, I'm bringing my DD and a ladder to put them up.

Meetings are lame. Same thing over and over.

I cut trails, I do recon...I'm a blue collar man now, much more fun. I'm all about the loppers, chainsaw and engineering tape.

I go to meetings and everyone looks at me like "lets ask Paul" and I'm always like "wtf are you looking at me for? My arse looks just like my elbow"

I like meetings because they make me feel like I'm doing stuff, even though I sit on my ass all day doing nothing. People say "Steve, are you busy?" and I say "Hell yeah, I'm planning a meeting, then I'll be promoting the meeting, then I need to attend the meeting, and of course after the meeting we need to meet to discuss what we accomplished at the meeting. When all is said and done, we'll need to meet to find out how to make the meetings more productive. See ya'll tomorrow for the pre-meeting meeting. Bring a chicken and some tape."

Yeeeeeaaaahhhh, baby.

Remember the NEA4WDC is a business. Wheeling does not make an executive officer better. Good leadership skills and serving the members, makes for a good preasident. I could care less about wheeling at this point in time. I care about raising money and keeping the best set of books in the OHRV community. I am famous without being seen at every wheeling event. LOL
