NETMaP explained

NE TRAIL MANAGEMENT PLAN (Rough Draft) EC4WDA Northeast Region/NEA4WDC

Action:

Assign clubs to trails?sort of an ?adopt a trail? program. ?X? club from NEA and ?X? club from EC adopts ?Y? trail. These clubs will be the stewards for that trail, environmentally and publicly. Of course club numbers and location would need to be accounted for, meaning NEA may have 2 clubs to 1 of EC?s on a given location or vice versa.

Purpose: Better coordination during land use issues, quicker response to negative publicity, and easier to facilitate clean-ups and/or environmental concerns.

This is currently being done with Gutter

Action:
Create a usage matrix showing what clubs will be using what trails/roads throughout the year. Private trails included (although ?private? would be the title of the trail).

Purpose:
Knowing what clubs will be where, the Associations will have a greater understanding of what trails are seeing over-use and will be able to suggest alternatives.

Please see the schedule Chris_Ryan created HERE. NEA's will be addressed very soon.

Action:
Make sure members have or carry NEA or EC cards/stickers/something?

Purpose:
Identification during trail runs

Private property is not currently being addressed. However, I don't want anyone to get the impression we're (EC/NEA) deciding who controls what property. What we're trying to do is assign work load across the Associations and across the clubs per our NETMaP strategy; that it's easier for one person and one club to "work the ground" and many times it comes down to who has the most resources, knowledge, and proximity to the trail. It would behoove us to maintain a single POC for private property regardless of Association.
1. This frees up clubs to research and explore other property. If it's already been done, we shouldn't be doing it again. We're killing ourselves.
2. It keeps the runs coordinated. By having one point of contact between Associations, that person is in better position to ascertain the need to reschedule rides if needed.
3. It keeps the landowner happy. Instead of numerous people calling/emailing/whatever, you have one that builds and maintains a relationship with that owner. Who knows, eventually they may give dibs when it comes time to sell  .
4. And of course, it keeps us all happy. More trails and fewer behind-the-back land grabs.

This is going to TAKE TIME. Please be patient and trust where you haven't before. Pretty please?

Track-ability. It's a beautiful thing. You know, I think we're going to have a very productive year.

I'll get on the BSJ forum and have them submit the schedule ASAP.

Not even close. I'm holding my own, but I learned from a guy who was very good at this.
