Camra's at Mabell?

Postby PatriotJeep » Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:02 pm

I was told there are camra's now at Mabell and 2 groups are going there on saturday? any truth to this?

If there's two groups going, there will probably be a LOT more than just two cameras.

One camera is mounted on the new gates and one further in on a tree in the secure area.

Do you know the 2 groups going there?

I've heard no news of this anywhere. Is this another NEA only conversation? It would be nice to know more info as there are other groups using this area.

If MaBelle is the next to be locked up, it's not friendly to find out when you're in the shit with pictures to show you were a violator without knowledge.

Thanks

It's already locked up, the cameras are just there to identify anyone damaging the gates.

What part is gated? Is it still legal to ride there?

OK, I was kidding. I don't know (or care) where Rich got his rumors.

No joking, though - the town was never getting tax money for the frontage lot when it was an unknown owner's. They've apparently written it off , taken control of it and updated there tax records to show it is their land and untaxable open space. What they do next is anyone's guess.

Mind if I remind you that today is 3/28, NOT 4/1 :!:

There's enough land/state/EPO/CC and personal/clubs/association problems that are REAL, that starting more issues right now is not smart on your behalf.

As I've told Rich, timing is everything!

Thanks

One needs to look at the source, I'm sure one would hear of this from lots of sources and places to collaborate the rumor but that is not the case.

I was joking because the same rumor about MaBell goes around bi-annually.

Or at least a similar rumor. I got suckered by it before.

Unfortunately for me Scott, I was looking at MFW being the proper source for MY info. Not Rich.

I am goal orientated to keep fellow Jeepers out of trouble with the law. At this time, the worse we look to political figures and law personel, the less likelyhood that WE can obtain LEGAL use of State land.

Thanks for the proper info.

FWIW, it never hurts to actually go and check. This happened a few months ago with RSG. The 'road' is gated in the middle by the town but a new wheeler didn't know that is not the 'trail' we ride on. Someone actually had to go and see to be sure.

For accurate info, look in the MaBell thread started by XJMaki.

That happens about 4 times a year actually. Anyone new that ever goes to try to find the trail starts the rumor that its gated.

from the 28th
As a UPS Driver whose route encompasses that area, I can tell you that there is no gates at the entrance to Ma Bell, as I just drove by it this afternoon, and it looks good for this weekend...
