As a result of the VTP Training Session, a donation of $150.97 will be made to the NEA4WDC General Trails Fund. The donation comes from an unplanned surplus from the event.

I got them to remove the charges for the conference phone and they were going to charge us $67 for using the projection screen (which is already a fixture in the room and we could have pulled down ourself) but, since that was not on the original contract I signed for the charges for the room, I was able to get them to remove it.

I'll give Steve the .03 tomorrow.

I was just starting to think about planning another training session and I remembered we had discussed making signs. Did anything ever happen with that. I think it was left where I contacted Carla and UFWDA to send files to Rawlus.

If we want to use Voss Sign I would just need to send the file to them, there may be other companies that could do this job also.

FWIW Voss Signs is the largest distrubutor for trail signs in the country. Other Associations could jump on board with this same art work and layout and order from Voss.

Voss also has free shipping for orders over $50 IIRC

I need to PM Rawlus and see where we left off. I'm going to say he probably never got the files from Carla...lol If he did I will be pleasantly surprised.

My only suggestion would be to move the UFWDA logo to the left side so it would be lined up with the NEA logo on the right. The bottom placement seems odd.

Looks great though.

Perhaps we should only have a small number of these made for now once we have a final markup.

Without knowing what will happen with United and with having a goal of implementing our own patrol program going forward, I think we can essentially come up with our very own sign for this and not have to use United's logos.

Thoughts?

I say wait on United. I do not get the sense that they are going to survive thier financial crisis. Too bad they are not a large for profit corporation, then the government would bail them out. LOL

Per the November meeting, I passed out a picture of the sign above and the only comment made (and it was not made or endorsed by me) was to move the UFWDA logo to the left side.

But I'd like to see us design our own sign without having to use the UFWDA logo or artwork and just use our own logo and artwork. Change the wording to Safety Trail Patrol or something so we are not using anything from United anymore. Reason being the goal is to institute our own program again and if UFWDA does in fact dissolve or we decide to no longer be a member we don't have a bunch of signs we cannot use. Would anyone be willing to work on this?

In the meantime I am going to work on resurrecting our own program and I will be contacting Major Tim Acerno about working with them again.

Good looking sign but 'Violators' of what?
There were hard lines out there if you wanted them, and easy ones if you didn't. (Right Max )
