CCJC's Charity Ride for the Children's Hospital Boston

Postby BobCCJC » Tue May 19, 2009 3:22 pm

Hi Guy's.....I wanted to share with you all what the CCJC was up to this past weekend.....I am exceptionally proud of all our members who contributed their time and $$$ to such a worthy cause...they all deserve to have their horns tooted.....!

This years Spring Charity Ride benefited the Katelyn Rose Pacheco Foundation -

In association with the Image

The Katelyn Rose Pacheco Foundation was started in memory of Katelyn Rose who lost her brave battle to congenital heart defects at 12 days old, after enduring heart surgery, ECMO and a very courageous battle.

Katelyn is not alone, then and today many children are fighting for their lives in the cardiac intensive care unit, (approximately 30 beds are filled everyday!) 1 out of 100 Children are born with a heart defect!! Families of these children sit helplessly by the bedside. It is the most difficult and hard thing for families to endure. The only thing more difficult is not going home with your child.

Very cool. I have a friend whose newborn baby died this past winter while fighting a very rare heart defect at Children's. It is unbelievable what they do at that hospital and the stuff they have to face everyday. Emma also spent time at the Children's Hosp. @ Dartmouth for the first year of her life. The staff was just incredible.

Nice job!
