Woody has earned a national reputation for his work on innovative sustainable trail design and construction projects which have addressed the full spectrum of trail use, from hiking and mountain biking to equestrian, off-highway vehicle and accessible trails. He is a trusted leader internationally and has more recently been working to educate trail professionals and volunteers on the concepts of building sustainable trails and how this is achieved.

Who Should Attend: Trail planners, advocates, managers, users, land trusts, conservation commissions, friends groups and volunteers interested in creating, managing and promoting sustainable trails for healthy communities.

Table/Display Opportunities: Trail organizations, consultants and other trail-related entities are invited to reserve a 6’ skirted display table to set up informational displays. Table costs are $25 for non-profits and $50 for private entities. The deadline for reserving a table is Friday, October 30.

Field Trips on November 13
Half-day field trips are $10 and the full-day is $20 with lunch included on the full-day. Transportation will be provided from the hotel to the site and back.

Field Trip 2: Half-Day (1pm – 4pm) at Barret Park in Leominster, MA

One of the work shops is an informational meeting regarding how to apply for RTP Grants.

I may know more after the MARTAB meeting today.

I'm 80% probability to attend the conference but do not plan to personally staff a table. It would be great if somebody wants to staff a table.

Attention Northeast Jeep:
I thank you for reaching out to me about your bridge building questions.
This work shop coming up has a 9:15 - 10:30 am session for YOU!
Selecting the Right Bridge for Your Trail:
Sustainable Bridge Design and Construction Guidance for Trails Organizations

I've learned more about different kinds of bridges and legal requirements from a similar session a few years ago. Sometimes it is hard to type a few sentences about different kinds, needs for your trail, etc - but I would highly recommend this class to anyone doing any trail work around streams and wetlands. Especially knowing that sometimes a bridge is not the solution that is sustainable for the trail or protecting the water way in question.

I am certain the presenter will also talk about legal ramifications, if any, and how to know when you need to be compliant and when you can skip that.
