Hello Jim Palmer here

just want to say hello

I have been a member of the Overland Jeepers of Maine since before it was formed (founding member). I have been on the BOD for years.

Much to my displeasure we have not been a member of the Association,That I believe will soon change.

Could someone please send me the needed info?

I will be at the raffle Saturday maybe some one can pull me aside there.

looking forward to work together with you all in the future.

Jim

He is referring to the White Mountain National Forest. As I understand it they are going through some sort of planning stage for useage but have left the 4wd community out as they did the snowmobiles. The snow guys got organized and got their local National reps involved and got their access back. We are trying to do the same thing but we dont have a large base of members and our senators or reps are having a hard time pushing for support for us for a perceived very small group.

Jim,

There are a couple more threads about this on this forum. It would be worth the read if you can get to them.

Jim - Don and I met with Reps Bass and Michaud and they are very supportive of motorized recreation in the WMNF, they believe there is enough room for everyone to recreate in the forest. They are willing to intervene with the rangers on our behalf. Numbers are very important so having OJME on board is huge! Hope to meet you at Dom's on Saturday.

Sorry, one slight correction is Allen not Bass. Yes, I agree they were very receptive to getting us trail access and not only said they would help to arrange a meeting but would help put pressure on the WMNF to get us a trail.

It was the Assoc brochure, some printout on "is the assoc right for you".
A leaflet on Maine Liability Laws, and NH Liability laws,

oh

and a $100 gift certificate to your local liquor supermart.

 Incorporation or seeking incorporation is a requirement for membership

This is a HUGE protection from any type of personal liablity for the officers and members of the club. It isn't expensive and is easy to do.
